Callum Scotson (born August 10, 1996 in Gawler ) is an Australian cyclist who is active on track and road .
Athletic career
In 2013 and 2014 Callum Scotson became Junior World Champion in the team pursuit . In 2014 he also won the gold medal in the team pursuit at the Oceanic Cycling Championships.
On the road, Scotson became the Australian junior individual time trial champion in 2014 . In the same year, he became national champions of the elite in points and team pursuit (with Matthew Holmes , Jonathan Stephens and Rohan Wight ) and again in 2015 (with Alexander Edmondson , Alexander Porter and his brother Miles Scotson ). Two years later he won this title in the U23 class by beating his older brother and defending champion Miles by 20 seconds and relegating them to second place.
In 2016 Scotson was nominated for the start in the team pursuit at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . He played the qualifying run and the Australian four took silver. In the following year, he and Cameron Meyer became vice world champion in two-man team driving, and together with Meyer he also won the two-man team driving at the Track Cycling World Cup in Pruszków . In team pursuit and two-man team driving, he was also Oceania champion. In 2018 he won the World Railroad Championships in scratch and two-man team driving (with Meyer). In the same year he became the Australian U23 road champion for the third time in a row.
