Mario Benetton (born January 1, 1974 in Padua ) is a former Italian cyclist and world champion.
Athletic career
In 1997 Mario Benetton became world champion in the team pursuit in Perth , together with Andrea Collinelli , Adler Capelli and Cristiano Citton . In 1998 the four-man finished third in the same line-up at the World Track Championships in Bordeaux and won the World Cup in Hyères . In 2000, Benetton was part of the Italian four-man who won two World Cup races. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , the Italian team was 11th with Benetton, Capelli, Citton and Marco Villa . The Olympic champion in the single pursuit of 1996 and world champion in the team pursuit Andrea Collinelli could not take part because he was banned for doping .
Then Mario Benetton ended his cycling career.
