Ethan Hayter (born September 18, 1998 in London ) is a British cyclist.

Athletic career

In 2016, Ethan Hayter started internationally for the first time and won silver in the team pursuit at the Junior Track World Championships . In the same year he was junior European champion in the same discipline , in the Omnium he won silver. At the national level, he and Joe Holt became the elite champions in two-man team driving. The following year he was once again European champion in the team pursuit, this time in the U23 class, and vice-European champion in the points race . He was also a two-time British Elite Champion: in scratch and in two-man team driving (with Matthew Walls ).

In 2018, Charlie Hayter became world champion in team pursuit with a " thrown together" team of Ed Clancy , Kian Emadi and Charlie Tanfield : Clancy, three-time Olympic champion and four-time world champion in team pursuit, was the oldest driver at 33 and Hayter the youngest at 19. He came into play because other drivers were canceled due to illness.

family

Ethan Hayter, three years younger brother Leo Hayter, is also active as a cyclist. In 2019 he won the junior competition of the Omloop van Borsele .
