Charlie Tanfield (born November 17, 1996 in Great Ayton ) is a British cyclist who is particularly active in track cycling .

Athletic career

In 2017, Charlie Tanfield became the British team pursuit champion , along with his teammates Daniel Bigham , Jacob Tipper and Jonathan Wale . Their victory came as a surprise, as the athletes are not part of British Cycling's Olympic track program, but instead formed the independent KGF team . They live together in a house in Derby , where they train on the cycling track in the Derby Arena there .

The team, which also includes Charlie Tanfield's brother Harry , won the team pursuit at the fifth round of the Track Cycling World Cup in Minsk in spring 2018 . That same year, Tanfield won the team pursuit at the 2018 UCI Track World Championships along with Ed Clancy , Kian Emadi and Ethan Hayter , finishing fourth in the singles pursuit . At the UCI Track World Championships 2019 , the British foursome was runner-up in Europe with Tanfield in his ranks. The team finished third at the European Championships .
