Mark Ian Jamieson (born May 4, 1984 in Dandenong , Melbourne ) is a former Australian cyclist .
Athletic career
At the 2002 road cycling world championships in Zolder , Belgium , Mark Jamieson finished second in the junior time trial behind Michail Ignatjew . In 2003 he won the single pursuit on the track at the World Cup in Sydney . At the track cycling world championships in Los Angeles in 2005 he won his first bronze medal in the team pursuit ; in this discipline he achieved his greatest successes in the following years.
So Jamison with Peter Dawson , Stephen Wooldridge and Matthew Goss was world champion in the team pursuit and fifth in the individual pursuit . At the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne he won the silver medal in the team pursuit together with the Australian national team. In 2007 and 2008 the Australian four-man with Jamieson was Oceania champion, and the team won three track cycling World Cup races . In 2008 he started with the Australian foursome ( Jack Bobridge , Graeme Brown , Luke Roberts and Brad McGee ) at the Olympic Games in Beijing , where the team finished fourth.
On the road, Mark Jamieson was Australian U23 time trial champion in 2004 and 2005. In 2011 he was part of the team that won the team time trial of the Tour of Tasmania . In 2011 he won the Australian classic Grafton-Inverell .
In 2010, Jamieson was sentenced to probation by the South Australian District Court for multiple sexual acts with minors. The incidents occurred in Adelaide between November 2008 and January 2009.
In late 2011, Jamieson teamed up with the visually impaired Bryce Lindores and took part in competitions of the UCI Paracycling World Cup to qualify for the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games in London . Because of his criminal record, the British authorities refused him a visa to start in London, so Sean Finning drove with Lindores in his place .
