The Jayco-AIS team is an Australian cycling team .

The team was founded in 2006 under the name Southaustralia.com-AIS and since then has mainly participated in the UCI Oceania and Europe Tour as a Continental team until the end of the 2012 season. In 2009 the team drove under the name Team Jayco-AIS and in 2010 with the co-sponsor Skins. For the 2013 season, the team did not apply for a Continental license and will continue to operate as a nationally registered cycling team.

The team is run by the Australian Institute of Sport and is considered a pool for the best cycling talent in Australia. Well-known former drivers include Matthew Goss , Matthew Lloyd , Wesley Sulzberger , Simon Clarke , Travis Meyer , Cameron Meyer , Jack Bobridge , Leigh Howard or Michael Matthews .

The team's manager is Kevin Tabotta and James Victor and Ian McKenzie support him as sporting directors.

The sponsor is the US-American RV manufacturer Jayco , whose owner, the Australian businessman Gerry Ryan, finances the ProTeam GreenEdge . There is also a cooperation with the GreenEdge Cycling Team .

The Australian Institute of Sport also operates a UCI Track Team (→ Team Jayco-AIS (rail team) ) and a national women's cycling team under the same name .

2012 season

The UCI announced on January 26, 2012 that the team as one of three oceanic continental teams had the right to start all races in the first and second UCI categories of the UCI Oceania Tour 2012 due to its placement in a fictional ranking at the start of the season .

Others

Since 2007 the team has provided at least one medal winner at the UCI Road World Championships in the U23 area. In 2007 Wesley Sulzberger won the silver medal in the road race. In 2008 Cameron Meyer won the bronze medal in the time trial. In 2009 Jack Bobridge was world time trial champion and in 2010 there were medals in both road races and time trials. Luke Durbridge took the silver medal in the time trial and Michael Matthews won the road world champion title. In 2011 this series was continued with winning the gold medal from Luke Durbridge and the bronze medal from Michael Hepburn , both in the time trial.
