The Davide Fardelli Memorial was held for the first time in 2005. The race took place annually in September in Rogno and was part of the UCI Europe Tour in category 1.2. The race was reminiscent of the local cyclist Davide Fardelli (1972-2004) from Lovere . He started mountain bike racing in 2000 and cycling in 2002. He died on August 26, 2004 after falling on a racing bike and in a coma for four days. The race was developed in collaboration between GMS and the Fardelli family. The last event took place in 2012.
