Alan Marangoni (born July 16, 1984 in Lugo ) is an Italian racing cyclist .

Career

Marangoni was Italian champion in the single pursuit in 2005 on the track . The next year he was on the road national champion in the U23 class individual time trial and he won the Davide Fardelli Memorial Time Trial . In the 2008 season he won a stage at the Giro della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia .

In 2009 he became a driver of the Professional Continental Team CSF Group-Navigare , for which he competed in the Giro d'Italia in 2009 and 2011 and the Vuelta a España in 2011 , finishing in ranks 107, 142 and 138. For the 2012 season he moved to the Italian UCI ProTeam Liquigas-Cannondale and was taken over by the US ProTeam Cannondale-Garmin after its merger . He stayed there until the end of the 2016 season, during which time he completed four more Grand Tours .
