Cannondale is a former Italian cycling team based in Sesto al Reghena .

The team was founded in 1999 under the name Liquigas . In the first ProTour season 2005 , the bike manufacturer Bianchi , who previously u. a. the team Bianchi and Alessio-Bianchi supported, as another name sponsor and remained the team's bike outfitter until the end of the 2006 season.
The US company Cannondale became the new bike sponsor in 2007 and also became a name sponsor in 2011.
At the end of the 2012 season, Liquigas withdrew as a name sponsor and the team's bike supplier, Cannondale , took over the main sponsorship. In the course of this change, the Liquigas subsidiary Liquigas Sport Spa also withdrew as a team operator. The team has since been managed by Brixia Sports Spa . At the end of 2013, Cannondale took over the majority stake in the operating company.
At the end of the 2014 season, Cannondale ended its commitment to the team operated by Brixia Sports Spa and became the name sponsor of the US ProTeam Garmin Sharp managed by Slipstream Sports .

The team's most successful years were the 2005 and 2010 seasons:
In the 2005 season, Danilo Di Luca won the Tour of the Basque Country as well as the classic Amstel Gold Race and Fleche Wallone . In addition, u. a. achieve two stage wins at the Giro d'Italia . With these results he won the individual classification of the UCI ProTour 2005 at the end of the season .
In 2010, the team was able to win two of the three major state tours . First Ivan Basso won the Giro d'Italia and later Vincenzo Nibali won the Vuelta a España .
