Leonardo Bertagnolli (born January 8, 1978 in Trento ) is an Italian racing cyclist .

Bertagnolli turned pro in 2002 with Team Saeco , for which he drove until 2004. His greatest successes were stage wins at the Vuelta a España in 2005 and the Giro d'Italia in 2009 and winning the UCI ProTour - one-day race Clásica San Sebastián . However, these results were later withdrawn for doping .

After the Italian championship in 2012, he ended his career. Shortly afterwards it became known that the UCI initiated an investigation against him because of discrepancies in his biological passport . He was banned for two years and ten months for doping in the summer of 2014 and the results from January 1, 2003 to May 18, 2011 were deleted. In the course of the investigation by the Public Prosecutor of Padua , he was suspected at the end of 2014 of having been a customer of the controversial sports medicine specialist Michele Ferrari .
