The Clásica San Sebastián is a one-day races in road cycling , the end of July or early August each year since 1981 around the city of San Sebastian in the Spanish Basque country takes place.

Until 2004, the race was part of the ten races in the Cycling World Cup . After its abolition, it has belonged to the newly introduced UCI ProTour since 2005 and since 2011 the race has been part of the successor series UCI WorldTour . The organizer is OCETA , which also organizes the Tour of the Basque Country .

The race leads over very hilly terrain. In the route that has existed since 2014, it is 219 kilometers long. There are six climbs to be overcome, three of category 1 and three of category 2. The decision has been made on the last mountain, the Bordako Tontorra (category 2), 7.1 kilometers before the finish. Until 2013, the decision had often been made on the Jaizkibel (category 1), which was the penultimate mountain around 30 kilometers from the finish line on the route at that time. The winner of the race receives a trophy of a typical txapela for the region .

In 2019 the race was organized for women for the first time. The first winner was the Australian Lucy Kennedy .

The 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
