Bauke Mollema (born November 26, 1986 in Groningen ) is a Dutch cyclist .
Career
Bauke Mollema won the U23 stage race Tour de l'Avenir in 2007 and then joined the ProTeam Rabobank in 2008 , for whose junior team he previously competed. There he developed into a specialist for the "Grand Tours" . He finished his first Giro d'Italia in 2010 in tenth place. At the Vuelta a España 2011 he won the points classification and was fourth overall. He finished the Tour de France in 2013 and 2014 in sixth and tenth place. For the 2015 season he switched to the Trek Factory Racing team . He finished seventh in the 2015 Tour de France . At the Tour de France 2016 he was in second place overall until the third from last stage, but fell back to 11th place after a fall. In the subsequent WorldTour race Clásica San Sebastián , he achieved his greatest success to date after a solo ride over the last eight kilometers. Mollema was overall seventh in the Giro d'Italia 2017 and won the 15th stage of the Tour de France 2017 as an outlier . With an attack on the penultimate climb, the Muro di Sormano , and a subsequent solo ride, Mollema won the Il Lombardia cycling monument in 2019 .

In 2011 and 2013 Mollema was named Dutch cyclist of the year .
