Michele Mara (born October 2, 1903 in Busto Arsizio , † November 18, 1986 in Milan ) was an Italian cyclist .

Biographical

In the spring of 1928 he won the Coppa San Geo, one of the most important amateur races in Italy. As an amateur , he finished second in the 1928 Amateurs Road World Championships in Budapest . Since then he has been a professional for the Bianchi team . He celebrated his greatest successes in 1930, winning the Tour of Lombardy and Milan – Sanremo as well as five stages of the Giro d'Italia that year . In 1931 he won two stages of the Giro d'Italia.

Mara ended his career in 1935. His younger brother Enrico Mara was also a professional cyclist.
