Joseph "Jef" Demuysere (born July 26, 1907 in Wervik , † April 30, 1969 in Antwerp ) was a Belgian cyclist .

Jef Demuysere was a professional cyclist from 1929 to 1939. In 1926 he won Paris-Arras and in 1927 the Tour of Flanders in the independent class. In 1929 he won the Paris-Longwy , 1930 the Circuit de Morbihan , 1932 the Omloop of the Vlaamse Gewesten . Also in 1932 he was Belgian champion in cyclo-cross racing and in 1935 national runner-up in road racing . A high point of his career was the 1934 victory at Milan – Sanremo .

Demuysere competed four times in the Tour de France , each time finishing in the top ten: in 1929 he was third and won one stage, in 1930 fourth, in 1931 he was second and won two stages and in 1932 eighth. In 1932 and 1933 he was second in the Giro d'Italia . In 1934 he finished eleventh. He was sixth twice at Paris-Roubaix .

Numerous celebrations took place in his hometown for the 100th birthday of Jef Demuysere. One of his sculptures was unveiled by racing cyclist Willy Kanis .
