Pietro Linari (born October 15, 1896 in Florence , † January 1, 1972 ibid) was an Italian racing cyclist .

Pietro Linari was one of the most successful and versatile cyclist in Italy in the 1920s and 30s. His greatest success was the victory at Milan – Sanremo in 1924. In the same year he won the Giro dell'Emilia , in 1925 and 1926 the Geneva criterion . Twice, in 1922 and 1925, he won a stage of the Giro d'Italia , in 1927 the Württemberg Tour and Around Frankfurt . In 1929 he was Italian champion in the sprint on the track . In 1929 he also set a world record over 500 meters on the track.

Linari also drove numerous six-day races ; he started at 36, of which he won four. In 1926 he won in New York with Reggie McNamara , in 1928 in Milan with Costante Girardengo , in 1929 in Stuttgart with Emil Richli and in 1931 in Paris with Alfredo Dinale .

Since 1925, the Coppa Linari has been opened for young drivers in Borgo a Buggiano (municipality of Buggiano , Tuscany ) - with interruptions . In 2011 the 49th edition took place.
