Giuseppe Ogna

Giuseppe Ogna (born November 5, 1933 in Sant 'Eufemia , Brescia , † May 8, 2010 in Vigorelli di Milano ) was an Italian cyclist and world champion in sprinting .

Athletic career

Giuseppe Ogna was a specialist in track sprint and tandem races . In these two disciplines he was four times Italian champion between 1954 and 1958 and reached further podium places by 1963, both as an amateur and after 1957 as a professional. In 1955 he also won the Milan-Busseto road race .

In 1955, Ogna was world champion in the sprint of amateurs on the Vigorelli track in Milan . He took part in the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 and won the bronze medal in a tandem race with Cesare Pinarello .

In the 1960s Giuseppe Ogna also took part in 21 six-day races; He won two of them: 1962 in Adelaide with Nino Solari and 1963 in Launceston with Warwick Dalton . Ogna ended his career as a professional driver in 1968.
