Luigi Borghetti (born January 31, 1943 in Rho ) is a former Italian track cyclist and world champion in cycling .

In the spring of 1967 he won the Coppa San Geo, one of the most important amateur races in Italy. In 1967 Luigi Borghetti was third at the UCI World Railroad Championships in Amsterdam in the sprint , a year later he became world champion in this discipline in Montevideo . In the same year Borghetti started at the Olympic Games in Mexico City and took fourth place in the tandem race , together with Walter Gorini . He was a professional driver from 1970 to 1977.

The "trained" track cyclist Borghetti took part in the road race Milan – Sanremo in 1970 and finished 92nd.
