Nino Solari

Nino Solari (born March 23, 1938 in Sulmona , Italy ) is a former Australian- Italian cyclist and trainer.

Nino Solari was born in Italy and immigrated to Australia at the age of 18. As a cyclist, he was particularly successful in six-day races in Australia, of which he contested 23 in the early 1960s and won two in Adelaide, 1962 with Giuseppe Ogna and 1963 with Sydney Patterson .

From 1987 to 2001 Solari was the Australian national coach for the youngsters. He later also worked for the Italian Cycling Federation. He also runs an Italian restaurant in Victor Harbor . He is the father of successful former cyclist David Solari .

Nino Solari was honored with an Order of Merit by the South Australian Olympic Council .
