Orlando Piani (born March 24, 1893 in Modigliana , † October 16, 1975 in Orange , New Jersey ) was an Italian track cyclist .

In 1919 Orlando Piani was the Italian champion in the professional sprint . In the 1920s he competed in numerous races in the United States . At the UCI track world championships in Brussels in 1930 , he was third in the sprint at the age of 37. In 1932 he started again at the World Railroad Championships , but retired early. He also drove in six-day races , but with little success: He finished sixth in the six-day race in New York City in 1920 together with the Dutchman Gerard Leene .

In 1932, Piani retired from cycling and settled in the United States after marrying an Italian-American. He died in Orange, just a few miles from Newark , where one of the most popular cycling tracks in the United States used to be and where he often competed.
