Joseph Groussard

Joseph Groussard (born March 2, 1934 in La Chapelle-Janson ) is a former French cyclist .

Joseph Groussard was a professional cyclist from 1954 to 1968. He competed in numerous smaller bike races and criteria , in which he was often able to take top places. In 1957 and 1960 he won Paris-Camembert , 1961 the Grand Prix Midi Libre and 1962 the Four Days of Dunkirk . He also won three times - 1958, 1961 and 1962 - at the Boucles de la Seine , 1962 at the Critérium International and 1958 at Genoa-Nice . In 1963 he won the classic Milan – Sanremo in the finish line ahead of the German Rolf Wolfshohl .

Groussard started nine times in the Tour de France . In 1959 he won the last stage, in 1960 he wore the yellow jersey for one stage . In 1965 he was the last to bear the “ Red Lantern ”.

Joseph Groussard is the older brother of Georges Groussard , his son-in-law is Philippe Dalibard and his grandson Antoine Dalibard , all of them racing cyclists.
