Guido De Santi

Guido De Santi (born May 16, 1923 in Trieste ; † October 30, 1998 there ) was an Italian racing cyclist .

Guido De Santi was a professional cyclist from 1947 to 1957. In 1949 he won the Milan-Modena race and finished second at the Trofeo Baracchi , together with Antonio Bevilacqua . In 1951 he won the overall ranking of the Tour of Germany , the following year he finished fifth in this race. Also in 1951 he won at Tre Valli Varesine . In 1953 he wore the Maglia Rosa for three days at the Giro d'Italia and was eighth in the overall standings and third in Bordeaux-Paris . From 1948 to 1950 he competed three times in the Tour de France , in 1949 he finished 55th, making it the last one and winner of the Red Lantern .

In his hometown of Trieste, the street where he lived was named after him "Belvedere Guido De Santi".
