Fabio Sabatini (* 18th February 1985 in Pescia ) is an Italian cyclist .

Fabio Sabatini became the Italian junior time trial champion in 2003 . In the 2005 season he won the U23 one-day race Coppa Città di Asti . Then he got his first professional contract with the German-Italian UCI ProTeam Milram for the following season . At the Giro d'Italia 2010 , as a member of the Liquigas-Doimo team, he was one of the helpers of the overall winner Ivan Basso and won the team time trial with his team. In 2011 he finished last in the Tour de France ( Lanterne Rouge ). More important than his individual successes is Sabatini's role as a driver in sprint trains , for Erik Zabel , Mark Cavendish , Marcel Kittel and Elia Viviani , among others .
