The 62nd Vuelta a España took place from September 1st to 23rd, 2007 . The three-week stage race consisted of 21 stages, including two individual time trials . There were also four mountain arrivals, including already on the 4th stage on the way to the legendary Lagos de Covadonga . The route length was 3,241 kilometers.

The tour started in Vigo, Spain and traditionally ended in Madrid .
