Ordino

Ordino is a municipality in Andorra at the foot of the Pic de Casamanya . The community extends to 89.3 km² at an altitude of 1298 m in the small town of Ordino.

The villages of El Serrat (1654.8 m), El Casamanya (2740 m), El Port del Rat (2539 m), El pico de Tristaina (2878 m) and El puerto de Siguer (2395 m) are also in the municipality .

The community's 5110 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) are spread across the various villages of the Ordino Valley: Ordino, Segudet , Sornàs , Ansalonga , La Cortinada , Arans , Llorts and El Serrat. Then there are the settlements of Les Salines and the Ordino-Arcalís winter sports station . Ordino is the main town in the valley and the administrative center of the municipality.

The Museu Postal d'Andorra is located in the village .

Personalities

Antoni Fiter i Rossell (1706–1748) was born in Ordino. He was Vogt of the Bishop of Urgell , one of the co- princes of Andorra .
