Antoni Fiter i Rossell

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Antoni Fiter i Rossell (* 1706 in Ordino , Andorra , † 1748 in Barcelona ) came from an Andorran patrician family and was a doctor of law . There are indications that he was also a cleric , but no documents can prove this.

In 1737 he was appointed Vogt by the episcopal co-prince , who was the episcopal representative directly in the country.

In 1748, on behalf of the Andorran Parliament, the General Council , Fiter i Rossell wrote the extensive Manual Digest on the history, manners and customs of Andorra, which is considered an important early work of Andorran literature .

In Andorra la Vella and in Escaldes-Engordany a street was named after the writer . The Catalan literary prize for novels Premi Fiter i Rossell also received its name.
