Hildegard Nießen

Hildegard Nießen (born May 25, 1946 in Bardenberg ) is a German politician. From June 1, 1995 to June 2, 2005 it belonged to the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 3 - Aachen I (= Eschweiler and Stolberg-Nord ). In 2005 Hildegard Nießen decided not to run again.

The trained bank clerk lived in Alsdorf until 1969. In 1970 she became a member of the SPD. In 1975 she moved to the Stolberg City Council for the first time. As early as 1982 she was elected group leader. She gave up this office in 2004 and took on the position of 2nd deputy mayor of the city of Stolberg. Furthermore, she was deputy chairwoman of the SPD sub- district of Aachen for 10 years and from 1993 until its dissolution in 1999 a member of the SPD Central Rhine district executive. In the local elections in 2014, she no longer ran for a city council mandate and thus retired from active politics after 39 years. However, she took on the task of the newly created position of honorary officer for the city of Stolberg. She is also an active member of the Ver.di union , the BUND , the Friends of Nature and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt .

Hildegard Nießen is married and has two children and two grandchildren.
