Vuelta a España 1982

The 37th Vuelta a España was held in 22 sections and 3456 kilometers from April 20 to May 9, 1982 .

The overall winner was the Spaniard Marino Lejarreta , after the supposed winner, Ángel Arroyo , tested positive for methylphenidate (Ritalin) after the end of the Vuelta a España and was given a ten-minute penalty. As a result of this time penalty, Arroyo slipped to 13th place.

The mountain classification was won by José Luis Laguía , the points classification was won by Stefan Mutter . Benny Schepmans won the Meta Volantes classification , Marc Van Geel in the Sprint Especiales classification and Team Kelme in the team classification .
