Sabiñánigo ( Aragonese Samianigo ) is the capital and administrative seat of the municipality of the same name (Municipio) in the province of Huesca of the autonomous community of Aragon . Sabiñánigo belongs to the Comarca Alto Gállego . The entire municipality of Sabiñánigo had 10,241 inhabitants in 2012.

Sabiñánigo is located 58 kilometers north of the provincial capital Huesca between the valley of the Río Aurín and the middle reaches of the Río Gállego . Sabiñánigo is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees at an altitude of 780 meters .
