Tardienta is a municipality in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon in Spain . It is located on the Canal de Los Monegros in the Comarca Monegros in the Llanos de la Violada south of Huesca and has a train station on the high-speed line Saragossa – Huesca , from which the line to Lleida branches off here.
history
Tardienta is said to have been inhabited since pre-Roman times. In 1118 the place was recaptured from the hands of the Moors in the course of the Reconquista . In the Middle Ages it belonged to Almudévar as a hamlet (aldea) . In 1786 Tarienta was given the title of villa (country town). In 1861 it was connected to the railway network. The strategically important place suffered damage during the Spanish Civil War . Recently an airfield and an amusement park have been built.
