Almuniente ( Aragonese Almunient ) is a Spanish municipality in the comarca of Monegros in the autonomous region of Aragon and the province of Huesca .

The municipality located on the Canal de Monegros is around 37 square kilometers and has 460 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019), which corresponds to a population density of 12 inhabitants.

Alfonso I , King of Aragón and Navarre, died in Almuniente on September 7, 1134 .
