Chalamera is a place and a municipality ( municipio ) with 106 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon in Spain .

location

The place Chalamera is about 90 km (driving distance) southeast of Huesca or about 60 kilometers west of Lleida between the two rivers of the Río Cinca and Río Alcanadre at an altitude of about 195 m above sea level. d. M ..

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1098 as the Calameran . In the time of the Crusades, in 1143, he came to the Knights Templar , who built a castle here - near the border to the then Islamic ruled south of the Iberian Peninsula .
