economy

history
Celtic , Roman and Visigoth traces have not yet been discovered in the region and so it can be assumed that the place was used as a resting place or as a stopover for shepherds and their flocks as well as for traders and their goods on the way from Huesca to in late antiquity or in the early Middle Ages Jaca or Pamplona came into being. The first mention of the place name Luar comes from the year 1099. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the place and the castle were sold by the Crown of Aragon to local and regional noble families.
