Sabiñánigo Alto ( Aragonese : Samianigo Alto ) is a Spanish town in the foothills of the Pyrenees . It is located in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon and belongs to the municipality of Sabiñánigo .
geography
The place is about one kilometer (as the crow flies) southwest of Sabiñánigo in the Val Estrecha . In 2015 it had 51 inhabitants.
history
Sabiñánigo Alto forms together with El Puente de Sabiñánigo the old Sabiñánigo. It was only with the construction of the Saragossa – Canfranc railway in the 20th century that today's Sabiñánigo, originally known as the station district (Spanish: Barrio de la Estación ), grew around the station .
