Mennonite aid organization

The Mennonite Aid Organization works within the framework of the “ Working Group of Mennonite Communities in Germany” (AMG). It was created in 2000 as a joint aid organization of the German Mennonites through the merger of three regional aid organizations: the "Mennonite Aid Organization Christians Duty", the "Aid Organization of the Association of German Mennonite Congregations" in Northern Germany and the "Aid Organization of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Südwestdeutscher Mennonitengemeinden ”from the Palatinate region.

The association, based in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, provides development and social aid, particularly in response to war, displacement, resettlement and natural disasters, as well as to promote education and training in developing areas. The focus countries for the aid of the MH are Ethiopia, Ghana, Tanzania, Bosnia, Germany and through partners in Paraguay, Afghanistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and other disaster areas.

Members are 54 Mennonite congregations from Germany. The office in Manching has a paid 50 percent position. A part-time worker and a volunteer are employed in the refugee counseling service in Karlsruhe. Eight projects abroad receive direct responsibility and support is provided through partner organizations.

The relief organization is one of the supporting organizations of Christian Services .
