The 41st Vuelta a España was held in 22 sections and 3666 kilometers from April 22 to May 13, 1986 . The winner was the Spaniard Álvaro Pino , the mountain classification won José Luis Laguía , the points classification and the combined classification went to Sean Kelly . Benny Van Brabant won the Meta Volantes classification , Pascal Jules in the Sprint Especiales classification , Omar Hernández in the junior classification and the ZOR-BH team in the team classification .
