The Kasmüllerbach, together with other feeder streams, forms the Kämpbach, which flows into the Danube at Grein . According to the teachings of the natural healer Vincenz Prießnitz , waterfalls in the Wolfsschlucht were converted into showers and natural water basins into wave pools from 1846. In 1988 a “Badstein” was rediscovered, neatly carved out of granite.

Of the numerous wooden structures in this "healing gorge" only foundations and post holes are left. Signs such as the “Neptune Grotto”, “Greiner Showers” or “Wiener-Wellen-Bäder” point to the earlier use. In the near-natural canyon forest, ash , sycamore maple and sycamore elm have survived thanks to the humid air and soil, the undergrowth is formed by a lush layer of herbs.

Since 1997, a 4.8 kilometer long, original nature and culture trail has led through the gorge, which was used from the middle of the 19th century for bathing facilities at the former Bad Kreuzen cold water facility. The trail was awarded the Austrian hiking seal of approval in 2010. Also since 2010, a stage of the Donausteig and a section of the 16.7 kilometer long Bad Kreuzner Danube river circuit lead through the gorge.
