Alain Bondue

Alain Bondue (born April 8, 1959 in Roubaix ) is a former French cyclist and two-time world champion.

Alain Bondue was a versatile racing driver on the road and on the track ; his specialty was tracking one's own on the railway. In this discipline he was ten times French champion among juniors , amateurs and the elite. In 1979 he was third at the UCI track world championships in the single pursuit of the amateurs. In 1981 and 1982 he won the world title. At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , he won the silver medal in the pursuit.

In 1982 Alain Bondue was second at Milan – Sanremo , 1985 third at Paris – Roubaix . He took part in the Tour de France three times, in 1984 , 1985 and 1986 ; In 1986 he took first place in the team time trial of the 2nd stage with his team, in which Laurent Fignon also rode. He also started in 16 six-day races : in 1981 he finished second in the six-day race in Noumea with Serge Beucherie ; 1986 third in Madrid with Dutchman Peter Pieters .

In 1987 Bondue ended his active racing career. He then worked for a bicycle manufacturer, but also worked as a consultant for television stations and the "Conseil Général du Nord". Alain Bondue was the manager of the Equipe Cofidis from 1997 to 2005 , but resigned in the wake of the Cofidis affair . Today he is the real estate manager of the holding group Cofidis Participations.
