Luis Pérez Rodríguez (born June 16, 1974 in Torrelaguna ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

career

Luis Pérez began his professional career in 1995 with the Spanish cycling team ONCE . In 1999 he took part in the Tour de France for the first time and finished it in 29th place overall. He then moved to the Vitalicio Seguros team . After only one year there, he went to Team Festina for another year . From 2002 he drove for the German team Coast . Since it was dissolved in the spring of 2003 due to financial problems, he moved to the Équipe Cofidis . At the Vuelta a España 2003 he celebrated his greatest success to date: He won the second stage from Gijón to Cangas de Onís .

Pérez started twice in the Tour de France and a total of four times in the Vuelta a España ; his best placings in Spain were a tenth place at the Vuelta a España 2003 and the Vuelta a España 2006 . In 2007 he ended his cycling career.
