Rudolf Risch

Rudolf "Rudi" Risch (born January 20, 1908 in Berlin ; † August 22, 1944 in Tighina , Romania ) was a German racing cyclist .

1929 won Rudolf Risch, That for the 1897 Berlin RV Arminius began, around Berlin and was German road champion of amateurs . This year he was also able to win other high-ranking A-class races, such as Around Leipzig, Across Holstein, Berlin-Rheinsberg-Berlin, Bonn-Trier-Bonn, the International Road Prize of Aachen, the Road Prize from Koblenz. In 1931 there were further successes, he won in Rund um Spessart and Rhön, again in Quer durch Holstein, Rund um Warsaw, Berlin-Leipzig , the Road Prize of Baden-Baden, Rund um Leipzig , Rund um Augsburg, Rund um Hannover. In 1932 he won the German championship in the team time trial with the RV Arminius 1897 Berlin, as well as around the Hainleite and Berlin-Neustrelitz-Berlin.

At the UCI Road World Championships in Liège in 1930 , he won the bronze medal in road racing . In 1931 he was third in the German road championship and second in Rund um Berlin .

In 1932 he became a professional and started three times in the Tour de France ; his best placement was 38th place in 1934 as penultimate. In 1932 he was 57th and thus last and winner of the Lanterne Rouge .

Risch died as a soldier in Romania in 1944 during World War II .
