Burkhard Ebert

Burkhard Ebert (born July 4, 1942 in Berlin ) is a former German cyclist .

Athletic career

Burkhard Ebert started for the Berlin association NRVg Luisenstadt in 1910 . With this club he was three times German champion in the team time trial on the road. In 1964 he drove at the Olympic Games in the all-German team in Tokyo in the road race (29th place) and with Günter Hoffmann , Peter Glemser and Immo Rittmeyer in the team time trial on the road (14th place). In the same year he was third in the German amateur road championship and won Rund um Düren , which he won again in 1970. Four times - in 1966, 1967, 1969 and 1971 - he won the Berlin stage trip and thus holds the record.

In 1968 Ebert started again at the Olympic Games in individual and team races on the street: In individual races he was twelfth, with the team ( Jürgen Tschan , Dieter Koslar and Ortwin Czarnowski ) eighth. In the same year he became the German amateur road champion and won around Cologne . Ebert was one of the few West Berlin racing cyclists who started the International Peace Tour; In 1967 he finished second in three stages.

Ebert was a specialist in one-day races and was able to win several amateur classics:

• Around Düren 1964
• Around Cologne 1965 and 1968
• Saarland tour 1965
• Around the Elm 1967
• Skagen - Copenhagen 1967

Burkhard Ebert from Berlin now lives in Lenggries, Bavaria , where he is involved with the Isarwinkler cycling friends .
