Algis "Olek" Oleknavicius (born August 17, 1947 in Kirchheim unter Teck ) is a former German cyclist and current cycling official.

Career

In the course of his career, Algis Oleknavicius was German champion nine times.
He took part in five cycling world championships and the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 and in Munich in 1972 . He was a member of the national road team and as a triathlete twice finisher at Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships). In 1993 he finished 472nd in Hawaii in 10:26:18 hours. At the UCI Road World Championships in 1973 , he finished eighth.

In the meantime, Oleknavicius has organized various cycling races , for example the Entega Grand Prix in Lorsch . At the German Road Championships on July 1, 2007 in Wiesbaden, he was the sports director. Time and again he succeeded in attracting and organizing major cycling events in the Starkenburg region . In the cycling club 1926 Einhausen, e. V. he is on the board. He lives in Einhausen in southern Hesse .
