Roland Weissinger

Roland Weissinger (* 1952 ) is a former German racing cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Weissinger was a track cyclist , initially with RV Stuttgardia . From 1972 to 1975 he won a medal in the team pursuit at the German championships with the foursome of the Stuttgarter SC club , later the RSG Böblingen . In 1976 he won his first championship title in this discipline together with Hans Lutz , Heinz Betz and Henry Rinklin . In 1979 and 1980 he won the title again. In 1980 he also became German champion in two-man team driving with Knut Binting as a partner. Until 1983 he won other medals in national championships. After his career as a competitive athlete, he continued to race for the RSC Schönaich club.

He is the father of the racing cyclist René Weissinger .
