Michael Glöckner (born May 27, 1969 in Ehingen ) is a former German racing cyclist .
Athletic career
Michael Glöckner was a specialist in single and team pursuit on the track . In the single pursuit he was German amateur champion in 1990 and in the team pursuit and in 1992 second behind Jens Lehmann .
In 1990 Glöckner became vice world champion of the amateurs in Maebashi with the German foursome in the line-up of Stefan Steinweg , Erik Weispfennig and Andreas Walzer . In the following year, Glöckner was world champion in the team pursuit in Stuttgart together with Walzer, Steinweg and Lehmann and vice-world champion in the single pursuit behind his German teammate Jens Lehmann. This four-man world champion succeeded in winning the gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona with the same composition.
For this he received the silver bay leaf on June 23, 1993.
In the 1992/1993 season, Glöckner also took part in two six-day races, but without any significant success.

Michael Glöckner is married, lives in Dortmund and has two children. He works in the field service for sporting goods (as of 2016).
