Gerhard Strittmatter

Gerhard Strittmatter (born June 27, 1961 in Böblingen ) is a former German track cyclist and world champion in cycling .

Athletic career

At the UCI Track World Championships in Leicester in 1982 , Gerhard Strittmatter was runner-up in the team pursuit together with Roland Günther , Axel Bokeloh and Michael Marx . The following year, at the World Championships in Zurich , the German four-man team with Strittmatter, Marx, Rolf Gölz and Roland Günther won the world championship title. He started for the RSG Böblingen .

Strittmatter had already recommended himself for the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles when he was injured in a fall. For faster healing he received - according to the official version of the Association of German Cyclists - from Armin Klümper a prohibited anabolic drug that was discovered during a test. As a result, he was not considered for the roster for Los Angeles.
