Rainer Erdmann

Rainer Erdmann (born March 19, 1946 in Mannheim ) is a former German racing cyclist and national cycling champion .

Athletic career

Erdmann was a two-time German railway champion. In 1972 he won the national title in a two-man team with Günter Haritz as a partner. In 1973 he was successful in the tandem race with Dieter Berkmann . From 1966 to 1973 he won a total of eleven medals in various disciplines at the German rail championships. At the UCI Track World Championships in 1973 , he was eliminated from the Soviet Union in the final of the hope runs against Anatoly Jablunowski . In the tandem race he failed with Dieter Berkmann in the quarterfinals. At the 1975 World Cup he made it to the quarter-finals, where he was beaten by Emanuel Raasch . During his active time, Erdmann was a member of the RRC Endspurt 1924 Mannheim club, of which he later became an honorary member.

doping

In 1974 Erdmann was tested positive for a doping agent at the German track championships and was then removed from the squad for the track world championships .
