Uwe Buchtmann

Uwe Buchtmann (born April 7, 1968 in Herford ) is a former German track cyclist .

Uwe Buchtmann was a specialist in the short-term disciplines on the track, he was particularly successful on the tandem . Twice - 1985 and 1986 - he was German junior champion on tandem, and in 1986 German junior champion in sprint . In 1988 he became vice world champion on the tandem at the rail world championships in Gent , with Hans-Jürgen Greil . In 1990 he was German tandem champion in Berlin (partner Markus Nagel) and at the 1990 World Cup in Maebashi he was third in the tandem race with Markus Nagel , and eighth in the sprint.

In total, Buchtmann was five times German champion and four times vice champion. In 1992 he retired from cycling. Today he runs a practice as a physiotherapist in Herford.
