Wolf-Jürgen Edler (born August 17, 1936 in Frankfurt / Oder ; † March 12, 2016 in Berlin ) was a German racing cyclist .

Wolf-Jürgen Edler grew up in Potsdam until he moved to Berlin to do an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic at Siemens . He began his cycling career at the RV Rennhahn club and then switched to the Kreuzberg RVg . In 1958 he won around Cologne and finished 28th in the individual race of the road world championships . In 1959 he won the ninth stage of the GDR tour . In 1960 he was together with Wolfgang Schulze German champion in two-crew driving the amateurs , in the individual pursuit , he was German Vice Champion.

Then Edler turned professional and also started in six-day races . In 1964 he resigned from cycling. Two years later he allowed himself to be re-amateurized, but broke his collarbone in a race in 1967 and ended his active career for good.
