Günter Kobek (born April 6, 1962 in Karlsruhe ; † October 30, 2016 in Waldems ) was a German amateur cyclist.
In 1979 Günter Kobek took third place in the overall ranking of the 3-stage round trip in Frankfurt . Three years later he won the bronze medal in the single pursuit at the German championships in track cycling . In 1983 he was two-time German champion, in the two-man team driving with Reinhold Kleebaum ; together with Kleebaum and two other RSG Wiesbaden drivers , Roland Günther and Bodo Zehner , in the team pursuit .
On October 30, 2016, Kobek was cycling on a country road near his home in Waldems- Steinfischbach , where he ran a driving school . An 82-year-old driver overlooked him and hit him. Kobek was thrown over a guardrail by the impact and died of his injuries at the scene of the accident.
