Joachim Hillenbrand

Joachim Hillenbrand (born April 6, 1964 ) is a former German cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Hillenbrand started for the Bund Deutscher Radfahrer (BDR) in 1982 at the UCI-Bahn World Championships for Juniors ; he finished fourth in the team pursuit and fifth in the individual pursuit . In 1985 he won the German championship in team pursuit with his club mates Matthias Lange, Roland Günther and Volker Diehl from the Berlin RC Opel student in 1921. In 1986 he was able to repeat this success. In 1988 he was runner-up in the single pursuit. From 1984 to 1988 he was on the podium in German championships in at least one discipline (individual pursuit, team pursuit, omnium or team time trial ). Hillenbrand won a title on the road in 1987 in the team time trial (with Frank Plambeck , Jörg Müller and Peter Becker). At the UCI Track World Championships in 1986 he started in the singles pursuit and was 16 there.
