Jens Zemke (born October 17, 1966 in Wiesbaden ) is a former racing cyclist who is now a sports director .

Career

Jens Zemke was German team time trial champion in 1989 and 1992 . Zemke became German mountain champion three times - in 1997, 1998 and 1999 . In 1998 he was the overall winner of the Hessen Tour, which was held for the first time, and the winner of the one-day race around Nuremberg's old town . As an amateur he started for the club RC Olympia Dortmund.

After retiring from active cycling in 2001, Zemke became the sporting director of various cycling teams , such as the Cervélo TestTeam and HTC Highroad Women .

Since the 2012 season he has also been in charge of the South African team MTN Qhubeka , later the UCI WorldTeam Dimension Data .

After five years with this team, he moved to the same position for the German team Bora-handsgrohe for the 2017 season .
